EPBElectronic Parking Brake
Electronic parking brake platform with auto-hold integration and simplified cabin packaging.
Standards
- ISO 26262 development path
- Auto Hold / HHC integration
- AEB compatible
- Onboard diagnostics
System overview
The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) replaces the mechanical handbrake lever or pedal with an electronic switch, electric actuators, and a control unit to engage and release the parking brake. By applying a precisely controlled clamping force to the calipers, it holds the vehicle securely with reliable performance across operating conditions. EPB integrates with Auto Hold, Hill Hold Control, and emergency braking, improving convenience and safety. Removing mechanical linkages frees cabin space, reduces weight and complexity, and lowers maintenance. With precise control, onboard diagnostics, and EV/HEV and autonomous compatibility, it is a core next-generation braking component.
