System overview

ATI IEMB enables consistent brake feel without vacuum dependency and supports regenerative braking strategies for electrified platforms. Its electromechanical actuation and pedal-feel control help OEMs blend friction braking with energy recuperation, keep braking response stable across drive modes, and prepare the vehicle architecture for brake-by-wire and assisted-driving functions.

Key advantages

Software-adjustable pedal feel for comfort, sport, and automated modes

Regenerative braking coordination to recover energy without harsh transitions

Vacuum-independent architecture for EV, hybrid, and engine-down operation

Brake-by-wire preparation with actuator, pedal simulator, and safety monitoring

Technical profile

Capabilities and technical values are program-dependent and must be confirmed against the applicable OEM requirements, vehicle architecture and validation plan.

Problems it solves

  • Solves weak or changing brake assist when vacuum is unavailable in EV and hybrid operating states.
  • Improves range strategy by blending recuperation and friction braking without driver discomfort.
  • Creates a cleaner path to assisted and automated braking through ESC and VMCS integration.

Typical applications

  • Electric vehicles that need strong brake assist without engine vacuum.
  • Hybrid vehicles that switch frequently between combustion, electric, and recuperation states.
  • Autonomous and assisted-driving platforms requiring electronically controllable brake response.
