System overview

ATI EPS replaces hydraulic assistance with a software-defined mechatronic platform that reduces parasitic energy loss, frees packaging space, and gives OEM teams a repeatable calibration path. The system connects steering torque, vehicle speed, diagnostics, and ADAS requests so the same platform can serve daily comfort, high-speed stability, lane-centering support, and future steer-by-wire evolution.

Key advantages

Modular steering calibration for each vehicle class and tire package

Lower energy loss and cleaner packaging compared with hydraulic assistance

Native integration with ADAS, lane support, and vehicle motion control

Diagnostic-ready ECU architecture for production and service workflows

Technical profile

Capabilities and technical values are program-dependent and must be confirmed against the applicable OEM requirements, vehicle architecture and validation plan.

Problems it solves

  • Solves inconsistent steering feel across trims by separating base hardware from calibration logic.
  • Reduces hydraulic maintenance, leakage risk, and idle energy consumption in compact engine bays.
  • Improves ADAS readiness by exposing predictable steering actuation, diagnostics, and safety monitoring.

Typical applications

  • Passenger vehicles that need light low-speed steering and stable highway feedback.
  • EV and hybrid platforms where energy efficiency and compact packaging are critical.
  • ADAS-enabled steering programs requiring repeatable lane-support and assist behavior.
