CDDControlled Deceleration for Driver
Delivers controlled deceleration profiles for assisted driving and safety interventions.
Standards
- ISO 26262 development path
- ADAS arbitration
- ESC/ABS interface
- Automated-driving integration
System overview
Controlled Deceleration for DAS (CDD) is a vehicle-dynamics management function that coordinates braking interventions across driver-assistance systems to deliver smooth, predictable deceleration. Acting as a brake arbitrator between ACC, AEB, and lane-keeping requests, it interfaces with ESC, ABS, and electric brake boost to compute optimal deceleration curves (typically 0.1g to 0.8g) and apply progressive brake force while keeping the vehicle stable. It prioritizes safety-critical interventions such as AEB over ACC, eliminates jerky braking, and provides natural-feeling deceleration for ADAS and automated driving.
Harmonizes deceleration requests from ACC, AEB, and lane-keeping
Computes optimal 0.1g–0.8g deceleration curves
Prioritizes safety-critical interventions such as AEB
Eliminates jerky braking for natural-feeling stops
Technical profile
Capabilities and technical values are program-dependent and must be confirmed against the applicable OEM requirements, vehicle architecture and validation plan.
Problems it solves
- Solves conflicting deceleration requests from multiple ADAS functions.
- Prevents unstable or jerky braking during assisted driving.
- Maintains tire-slip optimization and predictable vehicle behavior.
Typical applications
